John-Paul joined Extratime in 2016. He attends all Derry City home games and extends his coverage to away games in the greater northwest region. He was also Derry City Senior Ladies Media Officer for the 2018 season, providing match night reports and still images.

Since 2017, John-Paul has also covered Northern Ireland home internationals at Windsor park.
